Eight Stephen Curry debut tickets exist and only one has ever sold at auction
PSA has graded eight copies of the 28 October 2009 ticket. Three of them are better than the one that set the $19,200 record, and none of those three has ever been offered.

The ticket says GAME 1. Curry scored 14 on 7-of-12, with seven assists, four steals and two rebounds, and the Warriors lost 108-107. He took one three-pointer and missed it. Every price in this report comes from the 51 single-ticket Stephen Curry sales we have recorded, August 2021 to June 2026, across the sold data we compile from Heritage, Goldin and Fanatics Collect, plus one archived eBay result attributed where it appears. Multi-ticket lots are excluded from every figure. Grades are read from PSA rather than from auction titles, and 45 of the 51 could be verified that way. Population counts come from our 8 July 2026 census and were checked again against PSA's cert pages in August 2026.
Three copies are graded higher than the Stephen Curry debut ticket that set the record
PSA splits the game into two catalogue items, both full tickets. There is no stub and no pass. The arena full holds six copies: three at NM-MT 8, one at GOOD 2 and two at Authentic. The box office full holds two, both EX-MT 6. That is eight graded copies, plus at least one signed copy in PSA's separate PSA/DNA index, which is a different population of the same ticket. You can open PSA's report for the arena ticket and the box office ticket, or find the game in our population database. We hold four of the eight, and the signed one, in our scans reference.
So the highest grade that exists is NM-MT 8 and the highest grade that has ever been sold is EX-MT 6. Cert 75272375 reads population three with none higher on PSA today, and neither it nor the other two 8s has been to public auction. The finest known Curry debut ticket is a $10.00 seat in Club 200, section 209, row 15. The $85.00 lower level copy, section 107, row 7, is the worst-graded of the eight.
The $19,200 sat mid-table in the auction it came from. That same Heritage session on 28 August 2022 sold a signed Michael Jordan NBA debut stub for $78,000, a Pele World Cup debut stub for $32,400 and a Derek Jeter MLB debut full ticket at PSA MINT 9 for $31,200. Curry's debut came in at $19,200, level with a 1961 Bart Starr signed full ticket and a full ticket to the Beatles' final concert.

The debut is $13,405 clear of the second-highest Curry ticket sale on record and accounts for 24% of every dollar spent on a graded Curry ticket in our data. The other 50 sales run from $32.40 to $5,795, and 32 of them sold under $1,000. The median Stephen Curry ticket sale is $427. The two most recent results, both on 14 June 2026, were Davidson College tickets at $34.80 and $32.40.
Four years on, the best Curry ticket result of any year since is $5,795, or 30% of the record. Six Curry slabs have sold more than once in that window: four made less the second time and two made more, at a median of -10%. Both risers are signed. Cert 63949367, a signed Finals debut full ticket, made $2,563 in September 2023 and $5,795 in January 2026 on 49 bids, up 126%. Cert 80060558, the signed preseason debut, made $2,562 in January 2024 and $3,416 in May 2025.
LeBron James's NBA debut ticket is 24 times more common than this one
Scarcity is the whole argument for this ticket, and it survives the comparison. Line up the graded populations of the modern NBA debut tickets, counting every form and print PSA catalogues for each game, and Curry's eight sits at the bottom, above only Tim Duncan.

Population and price are not related in that table. Zion Williamson's debut ticket is 51 times more common than Curry's and its best result is $630. Jordan's is ten times more common and made $468,000. Scarcity does not create the price, it only decides how often anyone gets the chance to pay one, and on this ticket the answer is once in the whole sold record we compile.
Curry's other firsts confirm which date holds the money. His Davidson College debut on 10 November 2006 has 21 graded copies and has sold twice at auction: $585.60 for a PSA MINT 9 in January 2024 on 54 bids, and $1,128.50 for a PSA NM 7 in August 2025. His preseason debut on 4 October 2009 has six copies and three sales, topping out at $4,500. His summer league debut has one graded copy and has never been offered. Nothing in the college or preseason record reaches a fifth of the NBA debut.
The next Stephen Curry debut ticket price will be set by the month it lands in, not the grade

The $19,200 was paid in August 2022, at the top of the graded ticket market, and debut tickets bought then have not held their price. Across every debut ticket we track, 150 certs have sold more than once: 106 fell, 43 rose, and the median change was -33%. Narrow it to slabs that first sold in or before 2022 and came back in 2024 or later, which is exactly the position a buyer from that Heritage sale is in now, and the sample is 57 certs at a median of -50%.
The closest single test is Larry Bird's NBA debut, a low-grade full ticket from a 16-copy population and the nearest thing to Curry's item that has actually been offered twice. Cert 64064033 made $79,200 at Goldin in May 2022 on 37 bids and $19,520 at the same house in June 2025 on 43 bids. More bidders, 75% less money.
One thing has moved the other way, and it is the part that matters most here. Finest-known copies of NBA debut tickets have kept setting records inside that falling market: Jordan's two NM-MT 8 debut stubs, population two with none superior, made $280,600 in August 2025 and $341,600 in December 2025. It is not a rule. Kobe Bryant's MINT 9 debut stub, the single finest copy of that ticket, made $44,400 in September 2022, which was $600 more than an FR 1.5 of the same ticket had made seven months earlier.
Three anchors exist and there is no fourth. A PSA 6 made $19,200 at the 2022 peak. A PSA 2 made $1,999.99 on eBay two years later. Comparable debut slabs from that 2022 peak have resold at roughly half. The three NM-MT 8 copies are the only examples never tested, they are the finest of the eight, and whichever surfaces first will be the first real reading this ticket has had since 2022.
