A LeBron James debut ticket sells for a fifth of its 2021 peak
The record for the 29 October 2003 LeBron James debut ticket was set in November 2021 and has not been approached since. Twenty-nine sales, 195 graded copies, and what one costs today.
What a LeBron James debut ticket is worth depends almost entirely on whether it is a full ticket or a stub, and on when you are asking. Full tickets have sold 11 times, from $5,160 to $40,800, median $9,600. Stubs have sold 17 times, from $1,129 to $11,100, median $3,782. Both figures are historic: the last four stub sales all landed between $1,129 and $2,440, and no full ticket has been offered publicly since September 2024. Every price here comes from the 29 recorded public sales of the 29 October 2003 game in the auction data we compile from Heritage, Goldin and Fanatics Collect, August 2021 to June 2026. Population figures were read live from PSA on 30 July 2026.
The game was a Wednesday night in Sacramento, ARCO Arena, listed on the ticket as game 5 of the Kings' 2003-04 season. LeBron was 18, four months out of high school, and scored 25 points with nine assists and six rebounds in a 106-92 loss. The ticket that records it dominates his market: the 29 sales total $260,024, which is 60.6% of all the money spent on the 336 graded LeBron ticket sales we track, and the top eight LeBron ticket results of any kind are all this one game.
The record was set in November 2021 and nothing has come near it since
Six full tickets sold between August 2021 and August 2022 for $9,600 to $40,800. Five have sold since, none above $7,625. The median debut sale of any form was $14,700 in 2021 and $2,074 in 2025, a fall of 86% in four years. This is not a grading story or a supply story: the population barely moved. It is the same correction that ran through the whole graded market after 2022, and the debut ticket was priced at the top of it.
One consignor sold five slabs at the exact peak
PSA issues cert numbers in sequence, so tickets graded in the same submission carry consecutive numbers. Five of the debut sales carry certs 63169197 through 63169201, an unbroken run of two full tickets and three stubs. All five went through Heritage between November 2021 and March 2022, in four consecutive auctions, and together they made $89,703. That single consignment produced both the all-time record and the third-highest debut result on record.

The lowest-value slab of the five, the PSA 5 stub, came back to Heritage in February 2023 and made $3,720, against the $9,000 it had made 15 months earlier.
Two slabs have sold twice, and both lost most of their value
Repeat sales of the identical encapsulated ticket are the cleanest measure available, because the grade, the form and the object are all held constant. Two debut slabs have sold twice in our data. Both fell.

The form is worth more than the grade
Grade moves the price far less than that. In August 2024 a PSA VG-EX 4 full ticket made $6,300. Nine days later a PSA NM-MT 8 full ticket, four grade points better and the highest-graded copy ever offered publicly, made $7,625. Four grades bought a 21% premium, against the 2.8 times the same grade paid for being a full ticket rather than a stub. If you are choosing where to spend, the form is the decision.
195 copies exist and not one of them is a PSA 10
PSA catalogues this single game under seven separate headings, because the arena ticket, the Ticketmaster print, the box office print and the parking pass are all different objects. Added together they come to 195 graded copies as of 30 July 2026: 41 full tickets, 152 stubs and two parking passes. You can check the full ticket group and the stub group on PSA, or search the same game in our population database.
Nothing from the game has ever graded GEM MT 10. The finest copies in existence are four MINT 9 full tickets, and the best stub anywhere is a PSA 8, of which there are two. That split is the reason a full ticket costs what it does: it is both rarer and better preserved. 13 of the 41 full tickets grade PSA 8 or better (32%). Two of the 152 stubs do (1.3%).

That population is still growing, and the auction catalogues record it. Heritage sold the record full ticket in November 2021 as "only seven superior". By February 2024 the same grade was catalogued as "only nine superior". Today 11 copies of that exact print grade higher than PSA 7. Every new high-grade submission thins the one above it, which is part of why the 2021 prices have not held.

What a LeBron James debut ticket is worth now
Stubs are the liquid part of this market and they are cheap. Seven have sold since January 2025 and six of them landed between $1,129 and $2,440, covering everything from a trimmed Authentic up to a PSA VG-EX 4. Mid-grade stubs, PSA 3 and 4, are the most traded item of all and cluster at $1,980 to $2,440. The exception is the top of the stub population: a PSA NM 7 stub made $3,782 at Heritage in April 2026, and only six stubs exist at that grade across every print, with two above them.
Full tickets are untested. None has been offered publicly since September 2024. The last five sales, October 2023 to September 2024 and spanning PSA 4 to PSA 8, ran a narrow $5,160 to $7,625, so that is the band a seller today would be working from, roughly $6,000 to $8,000 regardless of grade. Nothing in the top tier has been priced at all: the four MINT 9 copies have never appeared at public auction, and neither has any of the nine at PSA 8 other than the one that made $7,625. On that band, the full ticket that made $40,800 in November 2021 is now worth about a fifth of what it cost. For scale, the same object in the other direction: Michael Jordan's single known NBA debut full ticket sold for $468,000, and a Mickey Mantle debut stub has cleared $115,200.
