Ronald Acuna Jr debut ticket sales run from $110 to $8,400, and seven slabs took most of the money

Twenty-eight lots have sold, from $110.40 to $8,400, and three of them hold two thirds of the money. PSA has certified 280 copies of the 25 April 2018 ticket, more of them signed than unsigned.

Ronald Acuna Jr. came up on Wednesday 25 April 2018 at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, not in Atlanta. He batted in a 5-4 Braves win over the Reds, went 1-for-5 and scored a run, and the ticket that records it is a Cincinnati home ticket. He hit his first major league home run in the same building the following night. Both games are separate entries in PSA's ticket catalogue, and only the debut has anything like a market.

Every figure below comes from the 28 public sales of the 25 April game in the auction results we compile from Heritage, Goldin and Fanatics Collect, 11 July 2021 to 12 July 2026. Multi-item and collection lots are excluded from every price. Grades are read from PSA's record for the cert rather than from the lot title. Population counts were read live from PSA on 14 August 2026, from both of its indexes, the plain ticket report and the separate PSA/DNA report that holds signed copies. PSA and all three auction houses catalogue the name without its accent, so both spellings were searched.

Seven consecutive certs

PSA issues certification numbers in sequence, so everything graded in one submission carries one unbroken run of numbers. Certs 63575108 to 63575114 are such a run: seven signed copies of this ticket, all with a PSA/DNA GEM MT 10 signature, graded together and sold off one at a time. Those seven slabs account for $18,235, or 71% of every dollar ever spent on a Ronald Acuna Jr debut ticket at public auction. The highest price on record, $8,400 at Goldin on 14 March 2022 after 39 bids, is one of them, cert 63575114. So is the second highest, $4,500 at Heritage two months later, and the third, $3,661.20 at Goldin in January.

Where the money went, grouped by the grading submission each slab came from. Consecutive cert numbers mean one owner sent one batch to PSA at one time, so each block below is effectively one seller. The 30-slab block is the largest single group of signed copies in existence and has produced the smallest return of any of them.

The block underneath is the one that explains the prices since. Certs 66021634 to 66021663 are thirty consecutive numbers, every one of them a signed copy of this ticket, every one graded MINT 9 or GEM MT 10 with a MINT 9 or GEM MT 10 signature. That single submission is one in five of every signed copy PSA has certified of this ticket. Two of the thirty have been sold, for $302.40 in November 2022 and $428.22 in January 2026. The other twenty-eight have never been offered. Of the seven-slab run at the top of the market, only cert 63575113 is still unsold.

Signed against unsigned

PSA keeps signed tickets in a different population report from unsigned ones, and reading only the first gives you less than half the picture. Read on 14 August 2026, the two catalogue entries for this game hold 132 unsigned copies and 148 signed ones, 280 in total. There are more signed copies than unsigned ones, which is unusual, and it is the single most important fact about what one is worth. You can check the main group and the box office group on PSA, or open the same game in our population database.

Signed copies are 53% of the population and 94.7% of the money. Twenty-three of the 28 sales were signed and they total $24,288. The five unsigned sales total $1,355 between them, and four of those five came out of the same submission, certs 43780646 to 43780651, a run of unsigned GEM MT 10 window tickets that made $372, $244.50, $117.60 and $110.40. No unsigned copy has sold since 5 May 2024.

The only unsigned copy ever to clear $400, and the only one not from that submission: cert 42812951, a PSA MINT 9, $510 at Goldin in January 2022 on six bids. It is the premium souvenir stock the Reds printed for the series, section 142, face value $23. Nothing without a signature has beaten it in four and a half years, and the four unsigned GEM MT 10s that have sold since all made less.

All 28 public sales of the 25 April 2018 Ronald Acuna Jr debut ticket, grouped by what they made. Twenty-five of the 28 landed under $800 and three landed above $3,600. Nothing has ever sold in between, and all three of the top lots closed inside nineteen weeks of each other in 2022.

Between $780 and $3,661.20 there is nothing at all. That gap is the whole market in one line: three lots sold into the top of 2022 and everything before and since has been an ordinary few-hundred-dollar ticket. The grade does not bridge it either. The record holder is a MINT 9, the best-graded copies have never come close to it, and 112 of the 280 copies grade GEM MT 10, which is 40% of the population and the single most common grade. Fourteen GEM MT 10s have sold, from $110.40 to $4,500, at a median of $372. Eight MINT 9s have sold at a median of $419.74, and the top grade is the cheaper of the two. The same split runs through the Mike Trout debut ticket, where grade sorts prices inside the signed and unsigned columns but not across them.

Cert 84747910, signature authenticated, ticket ungraded, $217.16. · Image: Goldin
At the bottom of the signed market sits a slab PSA never graded at all. Certs 84747910, 84747911 and 84747912 are three consecutive numbers holding three $10 upper view level tickets from the same game, signed and inscribed "MLB Debut", with the signature authenticated and the ticket left ungraded. All three sold at Goldin across 2025 for $217.16, $189.10 and $178.12, on 23, 33 and 19 bids. A signature with no grade at all still beats every unsigned copy sold since 2022.

Four slabs have sold more than once, which is the only way to price this ticket without arguing about grade or print, because the object is held still and only the date moves. All four went down.

Every Ronald Acuna Jr debut ticket cert with more than one public sale. The cert on the May 2022 Heritage row comes from our archive and could not be re-read off the slab, because Heritage does not serve its lot images to us, so that one repeat rests on the archive rather than on the photograph. The other three were confirmed on both ends.

Cert 63575114 is the clearest case. The same slab that took 39 bids and $8,400 in March 2022 came back to the same auction house nineteen months later, took 39 bids again, and closed at $407.48. Nothing about it changed. What changed was that by then the market could see how many more there were.

All 28 public sales of the 25 April 2018 Ronald Acuna Jr debut ticket, oldest first. Prices are the realised total including buyer's premium. Certification numbers on 24 of the 28 were read straight off the PSA label in the lot photograph, which corrected six that our archive had filed against the wrong cert; the three Heritage rows and one Goldin row carry the number the house or our archive recorded. Cert numbers link to the graded copy in our scans database where we hold it. The July 2021 Fanatics result predates a lot page we can link to.

What one is worth today is $320 to $430 if it carries a signature. Nine copies have sold since January 2025 and every one of them was signed, in a band of $136.64 to $432 with a median of $324. The most recent result is the last row of that table: cert 63575110, a GEM MT 10 with a GEM MT 10 signature, at Fanatics Collect on 12 July 2026 for $324. It is the same slab Heritage sold for $4,500 in May 2022. An unsigned copy has not been tested since 2024 and last traded at $117.60.

The reason the top of 2022 has not come back is sitting in the population report. Twenty-eight of the thirty tickets in one submission have never been offered, nor has the last of the seven that produced the record, nor most of the 148 signed copies in total. For comparison, PSA has graded 588 Aaron Judge debut tickets and that ticket has the same problem, while the Shohei Ohtani MLB debut trades at multiples of both on a population of 165. Acuna's other firsts barely trade at all: his first major league home run, hit in the same ballpark the following night, has 77 graded copies and one public sale ever, $210 at Heritage in July 2022, and the uncut panel that carries both games has seven copies and has never been offered.
